Welcome to my website! Please feel free to explore my teaching interests, my research interests, community involvement, and personal interests. But first, here is a little bit about me:
- I’m originally from Columbia, MD.
- I have two brothers, one is ~5 years older and the other is ~ 5 years younger.
- I went to Kenyon College, Gambier, OH where I majored in physics and minored in Chinese…Ask me how a micro-economics course initiated my interest in optics.
- I have more undergraduate credits in Chinese than I do in physics. I studied abroad at Nanjing University for one semester.
- I taught middle and high school at a K-12 private school and worked at NASA Goddard Spaceflight Center.
- I went to graduate School at CU-Boulder where I earned my PhD in Physics. I was able to spend part of that time working for a laser company in Shenzhen, China as an industry internship.
- I did a postdoc in the Electrical Engineering department at CU-Boulder and collaborated with Chemical Engineers. This is where I developed my interests in photopolymers.
- I started my current position at Carleton in Fall 2010, though I had a visiting position at Carleton during the Fall 2007 and Winter 2008 terms.
- My current Carleton research focuses on characterizing photopolymers specifically designed to facilitate the fabrication of integrated optofluidic devices.
