Charlotte presented her research on Polymer Lenses at the American Physical Society March Meeting. The culmination of many years of vision and hard work on her part. Charlotte worked for me 11 of her 12 terms at Carleton. She started before she even had a physics class at Carleton.

Apparently, she was terrified to contact me about a research position, but she was so interested in my work that she got up the courage to email me. I’m glad she did! It took a while for her to develop her own identity as a confident student and researcher. It wasn’t easy. She tried lots and failed lots, but she kept growing and saw more and more successes. I loved watching her mature both personally and professionally over the years. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to work with her!

After Carleton, Charlotte spent a few years teaching at a private school before deciding to attend graduate school in Physics Education Research.
