We put Stormy down this past September. It’s hard to believe he is gone. I had him since he was 1 year old. I think he was 15 or 16 years old, so he had a good long life. I had wanted his sister, Mystique, who had a calmer personality. I think things worked out for the best, though. Stormy would have never tolerated the treatment of my two, young nieces. My brother and sister-in-law would have probably had him declawed. The name Storm never quite fit him. He’s the wrong color and he hated thunderstors. He would go to the upstairs hallway and cower. It was the only place in the house that he could get to that didn’t have windows. No, he was named Storm because my older brother was into X-men at the time – Storm and Mystique. Both of them had licking fetishes. Mystique would lick walls. Storm would like the venetian blinds. Very meticulously across each piece. He would do the front and far up and down as he could reach. Then he could reach his paw through so that he could pull his head through and lick the back side. This was awesome…except that when he got to the strings, he could sometimes decide to chew through them and break the blinds. I tried painting the blinds with cayenne pepper and apple cider vinegar. Orange-scented spray worked best. But he was tenacious and worked his way through the chemicals. Stormy was sweet and quirky. I miss him a lot! I still have Juliet though. She isĀ adapting to life without Stormy. Pretty well, I think. She is a bit clingy, but she loves to pounce on shadows and sun her self. Oh, and all the sleeping. Lots of places to sleep. We’re all adapting to new normal, but I’ll always remember the boy I loved before I met Bryan.
